I think this song is referring to Andy Warhol and his art in film. Not sure really what the point is , though it seems it's being told from an actress or actors perspective to the viewer for watching them. Let's say Are we alive from dawn to dusk Rip out a page from Andy's book And say I had a line I had to cross Outside the box we had to look And say The benefits won't keep you in When your in You'll never know what beauty is Another maze that's how this goes Enjoy the chase that's all we may know Til your in If your in You'll never know what beauty is In the first line before the" let's say" I'm not sure who is speaking it but it seems to be a front remark to get people in. Seems to also be who speaks the chorus line well that's showbiz Take it on the chin And I'm not your mother As to say, hey you wanted in ,you got it ,now take it where I say and don't cry to me about it. Not too sure about it, I've heard the song a couple times and all Its I can think of so far. Love chevelle new stuff. They still got Thier cryptic charm in lyrics. |
