You are right on one account, the Awake album is about going into a coma, a place with no God. In the song Awake and Alive, he talks about keeping his soul, and being at war with the world, a God less world. Then he gets strength from God when he breathes his life into us. He is fighting the ways of the world, he is going to believe what he wants and doesn't want the pressure society can put on believing in God. And being a Cristian doesn't mean that you are religious, being a Christian gives you a relationship, a personal relationship with God. |

I went to a Skillet concert recently and he explained what this song meant. This song is about the lead singer, John Cooper. His father was really strict and would not let his kids wear black or listen to any music with drums in it. He used to go over to his friends house and play video games all night while blaring the radio. He talks about how he did not want to go home to another fight (his father) and he would stay up late and talk. |
