In my opinion this song is about addiction and the struggle that follows during recovery. The addiction is the "monster in my mind" "Your love is a lie" refers to the feeling of love felt when your high and how it's a lie that lead(s) to addiction. "I will fight to forget" he is basically saying ignorance is bliss, that he will fight the cravings to forget the false love the high provides The verses are conversations with a personification of his addiction |
