@[stagg64:9721] they tried going mainstream by destroying their own sound, abolishing solos and the fucking annoying snare. After listening to that one album I hear the snare in every song after St. Anger. That shit haunts you... |

Right, I think, and I'm probably wrong, that this song is about doing something that you think will somewhat contribute to your nation or country, and realizing that nothing changes, and that this was just a part of a huge scheme or plan for something, and later in realizing you're not the only one to have done this. |

First off I wanna start by saying, I know this song is basically about pleasuring a woman, but if you don't know that and just listen to the words, it can be easily mistaken with rape. Just read the lyrics with the mindset and it will hit you. |

I think it's about drugs, as in a guy gave his whole life away to drugs, and became totally addicted, while others around him, such as friends, realize he has lost everything. The line "you broke your back, she broke your heart" I personally interpret as he has given everything for the drug, but the drug just completely destroyed him. |

Well, That's ruined the song for me....
Through the verses you could simply interpret it to be from the point of a father, who got drunk and impregnated a girl, and later received a baby, that he used to relieve his anger on... |

I think this song is about how the government exploit their ranks and supremacy to do as they please, and automatically assume, or maybe even force us to be okay with it. |

I think this song is about how people feel like they are being controlled by the government and they make it seem as if it's their own choice, whereas in reality it's all a big manipulation to get the country into whatever pile of shit they want, and blame the bad things on the wants of the people, not themselves. |

I got my mate to listen to the whole black album and tell me what he thinks...
His view on the album as a whole is that it's about a kid growing up with some sort of disease (unforgiven), then being taken by the "sandman" (enter sandman), and as they said, into never never land (through the never), and the mother realizing what has happened the following morning and exclaiming how she should've treated him better (nothing else matters) and the worst part being that it was 100% true.
This is genuinely my mates opinion of the album. |

@[matt156348:7649] I see where you're coming from and I'll be honest, I totally agree. It's just a few of the lyrics don't make sense in terms of 9/11. I wish more people knew about Avatar, they are a fucking great band. |

@[King:7648] Nothing I kind of agree a bit with it being about them, as this was when they started, and they were probably started out as one of them obnoxious bands who bloats about how great they think they are. There may not be lines referring to them directly but it could just be metaphores |

I've always thought this song to be about a person who is wrongly held in a mental asylum and tries to convince others that he's not mental, and trying to get away, but then he just seems more crazier to them... But I'm most likely wrong. Everyone has their own interpretation! |

Firstly, this is genuinely a kickass song, secondly, I think this song is about bullying... I mean, I know it sounds stupid but you can see lines like "he's battled constantly" might be a metaphor, or mean an actual verbal or physical fight with bullies that he will never win.... |

This was one of the first Alter Bridge songs I heard, and I honestly think they could be one of my favourite bands.. |
