| Tool – The Patient Lyrics | 6 years ago |
|
Very simply put this is about patience. Its clear as day. Essentially he is addressing the tedious and repetitive path one takes, one that may be necessary, to being with the one they truly wish to be with. Along the way time is shared with those who use the patient person. Leaches, emotional vampires, users. Its part of the journey and almost everyone goes through this. They remain optimistic in the idea they will find that one, or finally be with the one they know is meant for them. Relying on the idea that in the end there will be a loving embrace, the love of that one, is seeing them through all the hardship along the way. |

| A Perfect Circle – Thomas Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| This is simply a song about a falling out between two people that have a strong and powerful connection. One where their life feels somewhat empty without that other person. They are seeking forgiveness and the strength to let go, move forward and reconnect. | |

This song is definitely about Maynards son, but its not about how he wants to abuse his child, wtf thats ridiculous. This song is about a man being forced to face his past, to accept how he was raised and doing what he can to avoid becoming the emotionless father he had himself. Its about a new father who fears being his own father, but his love for his newborn child is so strong, by the end of the song its clear that his son has changed him, broken down those walls, his fear of being a bad father, gone. |

| Tool – Jimmy Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
Yeah Jimmy is very clearly about Maynard and the relationship with his mother. Basically he's singing to the inner 11 year old version of himself. Due to the stroke his mother, Judith, had when he was 11, the impact was so profound that a part of him was left there. Maynard left to live with his father at that time. Its clear he loved his mother but did not follow the same beliefs in fact a part of himself resented her for her religious believes this is very clear in APC's "Judith". "Jimmy" is about him coming to his own resolution and facing what he left behind. Wings For Marie 1 & 2 are his eulogy to his mother and his acceptance. |
