@[brasseye:55158] I'm aware this is a 4 year old post so I hope you don't mind me reacting to it. I love this site and regularly come to see people's pov around my favorite songs, but never post anything myself. Just wanted to say I spent 10 minutes recovering my login details just to come in and say what an absolutely fantastic take on this song and an absolute pleasure it was to read and simultaneously imagine the whole thing playing out while the song was blasting in the background. I always believed this song is about depression. She knows she's hurting the one she loves, but still can't help herself from doing it cause she's sinking so that just hits everything around her, even tho clearly unintentionally. The ''I'm waking up baby'' refers to me as finally being able to crawl out of it and reaching out for contact, albeit maybe too late, since he has already abandoned her because of it. |
