To me it's the final scene of the sage Caleb, TEotC, DSaW, and I agree it might take place in the same night that in DSaW. I think he has planned to kill her and die with her in the same time (TEotC: "it will kill you too" "kills me, please kill me before", DSaW : "Time to walk with me the last mile" "I never wanted us to end up in this catatonic phase" (wanted "us" and not just "you") "I will carpe the diem while it's still here" "I'll help you follow through") since he has read Romeo and Juliet (DSaW : "I read a book about a man, a love, a woman, how they died") In my mind in DSaW he has somehow caught her alone and is going to kill her and him by poisonning them, but then we learn in Juliet that she has somehow escaped it ("I'm paralysed and you are still alive" etc.) maybe by drinking a kind of poison like the one in Romeo and Juliet that can make her heart stop beating for a while ("cannot feel your heart anymore"). |
