Only the delusion of them loving each other remains as a memory, and the dissonance of reality, maybe even narrator's own confusion.. I think that's what the oxymoron is about. | |

Well the theme of the album doesn't have to apply here, I don't think it does. The person can have several perspectives, and isn't sure what is his. It's not that he doesn't fit in the society, it's that he feels like he doesn't belong to this world. Like he never got the hang of it, and so he considers killing himself. He searches for something beyond him, but after joining some religion gets dissapointed as realises it's just a trick. He is sentimental, sad because of the impermanence of better times. Tried drugs, therapy.. but smoking and drugs didn't make him feel better, and so he doesn't 'get the joke'. He starts having suicidal ideations and thinks about what he'll leave behind. He stays in this world because of the friends he has, but he's aware that they'll leave entually. He has many sides in him, sort of fights between nihilism and existencialism. It ends without him deciding, he's very depressed and who knows how long he can live like that. |
