@[MapMistress:6201] You're kind of right, but not quite. While it's true that high school does end at age 16, it's often not a good idea for one to end their education there. Historically, it was the age that one would begin work, usually an apprenticeship in some skilled trade. For a long time now, it's just as usual for kids to continue their education for another two years before going to college at 18. Also, 16 is the Age of Consent, i.e. when sex is no longer forbidden (with other 16 years olds and up), and with written parental consent marriage is also possible. For legal purposes, 18 is the age when one ceases to be a minor and becomes responsible for themselves, is able to vote, and is able to consume alcohol. I'm just pointing out the facts; not wanting to start an argument. Hope somebody finds this useful. :) |
