I think 'human' in this case could be a metaphor for opening up and showing emotions. The line "I am so scared of what I'll look like in the end" emphasises this point by saying the narrator doesn't know how she'll change in other peoples eyes if she opens up. "I would give my life to be human", "I trust that I will take it", "I don't know what it's like to be alive, to say goodbye, to cry a thousand tears because my ears won't listen" implies she's experiencing difficulty to be honest with herself and others even when she wants to be. |

| I love this song so much. I think what Ellie's basically saying is to not worry (or panic) when love or relationships aren't turning out how you expected it to be, because just because it's turning in a different direction doesn't mean it can't be fixed or become even stronger. One small mistake won't ruin everything, especially when it can be fixed. | |

I think this song is about being bored and daydreaming just to get away from everything - "when I'm bored, I kinda drift away". "Come meet me in the sky I'll be waiting for you And we can't hear what they say Up in my air balloon, air balloon, air balloon" I feel this would be about ignoring the person who keeps talking to her and another friend. This could be another way of saying she has her "head in the clouds" which is a phrase for not paying attention to what's being said or daydreaming. When she's not paying attention to reality, nothing can bring her down - "now we're so high, it can't rain". Just saying what I heard. :) |

| In a lighter view of the meaning in this song, I think it's about changing yourself - moving on. When the lyrics say "goodbye my friend it's hard to die" the narrator is saying they need to move on and grow older and wiser and leave their past self behind even though it's difficult. This song is about new beginnings and hopes and dreams. It's a very beautiful song. | |
