| This song is about a person (I'll call this "the friend") that is helping someone ("the distressed"). The friend has been through an extremely difficult time (many doors, confusion, 1000 fears), so difficult that it causes aching. They made it through this time and are trying to help the distressed. They are going to talk all night until the distressed is confident that they can make it through this time as well. The fear seems insurmountable to the distressed, but the friend is giving them every assurance that they can get through and they can face it as well. The friend will be with them every step of the way (These ties that bind us, strengthening still). | |
