Scott Walker – Bouncer See Bouncer Lyrics 10 years ago
This is one of my favorites from Tilt. I can't believe there are no comments on this one!

@[Appers66:5963] You can definitely hear the similarity in the opening riff of Jailhouse Rock. When you listen to them back to back, it makes "Jesse" all the more erie. It sounds like a broken, warped and beaten down version of the more upbeat "Jailhouse" riff. What a masterpiece!

@[Gestfala:5962] The donkey's throat being punctured could be the key to those last lines: "Sonny boy, such a sonny boy, in her voice there's a flaw Curare!" I think if I had a hole cut in my throat, there'd be a flaw in my voice, too.

@[DementedPuppy:5960] I'm also surprised at the lack of comments. Especially after all these years. I'm late to the party myself, having only known this album for about a year, so hopefully more people will find this and see the masterpiece for what it is.
The "Cossacks are charging in" part that you described is exactly how I see it in my head. And that just proves again how great Walker is at lyrics.

Scott Walker – Clara Lyrics 10 years ago
This is such an incredible track. The lyrics are so cryptic, with adds to the whole thing, for me. Even though Walker tells us exactly what the song is about, it's still wide open to interpretation. "Finer than a hair from every side, finer than a hair" - what the hell is this about? I'm trying to keep in mind that the images of Clara and Benito's bodies were a traumatic memory from Walker's childhood, so some of this could be what he thought or felt at that time. Of course, it's impossible to know for sure. Unless… someone knows? Does anyone know??

Side note: Last Halloween, shortly after I first heard this song, the kids and I made cornhusk dolls. ;)
