i'll say one thing about this song and the stratospheric band that remade it by SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON.like all of LED ZEPP'S blues influences and songs that inspired them,it truly was in reverence to the older blues artists not to just rip them off on a remake.the thing that makes this song truly ZEPP'S is how ROBERT PLANT not seemed to,but actually summoned SONNY BOY'S spiritual voice.yes that is PLANTS voice,but through the channeling of SONNY WILLIAMSON.listen to it once,then go back and hear the origional,it's one and the same.when LED ZEPP first came together they got truly frightened at the things that were coming through! other worldly and in some interviews by PAIGE and other members they tried to explain the best way they could that they were channeling the other side with their music,some say SATANIC,as most rock and roll roots go back to through the old blues players,but i think more so through just pure reverance they tapped into the akashic record of music.as in the movie,"THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME" JIMMY PAIGE climbed the mountain of guitar musicians through true dedication to his craft and then became the MASTER and than did inherit the vast wealth of riff's that awaited the one that was willing to put in the effort to make it to the top of that mountainous task,he sits on top,even above HENDRIX and then you have do have others that reached a high plateau,but not quite the pinnacle that PAIGE sits upon,but yes,alot of those ZEPPELIN songs came through a vast channeling through great effort and reverance on their part and as with this one it's truly hard to tell PLANT and SONNY BOYS voices apart |

always seemed to be that CHRIST got no quarter,no reprieve,no mercy,the devil mocked his every step and the part that says,they carried the new's that must get through,for a better life for me and you,i guess being a spiritual being,i took it as the life and death of CHRIST,a very sad song to me and how i took it,it seems one of those diddy's that can have multiple meaning's to multiple people |

one of the first song's I heard from ZEPP,didn't know the meaning,but that's when I fell in love with them,and what a long love affair.but,yes I agree it's about a woman of the night,his first time as boy and then at the end his face has changed,older then, and then again he needed her again.I never look down on hooker's,they provide a service to men who may otherwise not have love or a loving carress.and who also may otherwise go on to rape.so i just don't look down. |
