| @[sexdrugsrocknroll:35279] - I would say the idea was probably Roger's but the end product is a level 1 Queen masterpiece so would have been worked on by the whole band. It's written with a double, and at the time of release hidden meaning as his illness was covered up, right until the day before he died. The Innuendo album had already been delayed from it's original planned release in 1990 to early 1991 and the Days of our lives single was released as a double A side with Bohemian Rhapsody in time for the Christmas number 1 of 1991. | |

Pretty sure this is involved somewhere... Would kind of coincide with the writing "era" of the album. EVEL KNIEVEL ON TOUR by Sheldon Saltman Then there's some cross references to the book / film Once Upon a Time in The West in there as well. It's a Knopfler "reporting piece" - For all the "public showing off" behaviour he ends up with a single "line in the news" It's also contrasting the differences between the public and private persona of the character in the story. The book revealing more depth to the biker character than what it presented as the public image. |
