I'm fairly sure its about adultery in one way or another. Basically, he and his 'true love' are apart and he deeply misses her but desires physical intimacy or something. "I know I said be gone Well I’m searching for you now" When his true love was around, he rejected some other girl but now that she's away he is looking for her. The chorus: "I don’t want you To the bone I just need To lay down with soft skin Close to my own" Basically, he's telling the girl that he is not in love with her like he is with his true love, he just needs someone to 'lay down' with to ease the pain of being apart from his love. "Until my true love’s home" He's telling her that it would be a fleeting relationship and it will be over as soon as he is reunited with his lover, after which point it will all be forgotten. Beautiful song as always from this wonderful band. |
