| Of Monsters And Men – Lakehouse Lyrics | 10 years ago |

My interpretation of this song is this: The characters in the song burn down a house. As the song says, "The floor under our feet whispers out Come on in come on in, where it all begins." They are lured into this house by the memories of this place, and they burn it down, but then something makes them realize that they don't want to burn the house. Maybe the memories. "Can you chase the fire away." They are soon running away because *maybe* the police have come to investigate the site. However, one of the group runs down to the lake house and tries to put it out. However, the authorities are there, and she knows she will have to confess what she has done, and who the group is. She is the fox that has betrayed them. The rest of the group is running away and sleeping all day to run from the authorities. The winter, and cold of the law, is catching up on them. ABOUT THE NAME: The lake, being water, is somehow related to the fire. |
