I love the original song. But I must admit, I adore this version more. This was played at my father and stepmom's wedding in March when she walked down the aisle. Such a beautiful song, but so incredibly, searingly tragic. My stepmom had terminal cancer, and had been in and out of treatment on both sides of the world. Every single lyric of this song was perfect for their relationship. She passed away last month. Now when I hear this song, I hear it from my stepmom to my Dad; when she was with him, he made her feel whole, clean, young, fun and free again. I love this song. I always will. But every time I hear it tears will fall. |
