I think this song is about someone with dreams and aspirations/excitement of life being struck down by reality. The lyrics in the beginning are very hopeful with lines like "there's no stopping curiosity" and the chorus explaining what he wants to do with his passion. In the second verse, it sounds like he overwhelms himself with things he to achieve. "Who's to say I can't do everything? Well I can try" this continuing with "I begin to find, things aren't always just what they seem" suggesting that the plans for life he had aren't working out just as he previously thought. throughout the song the chorus always ends with him saying "I don't want this feeling to go away" near the end of the song, he repeats the words "please don't go away" as if he is slowly losing his excitement and passion for life that he once had. The song ends with the lines "is this how it's supposed to be?" Signifying how reality has finally caught up to him and his recognition of this. Although the song ends inquiringly, almost questioning this conclusion. Of course, this is just my interpretation. |
