I get a sense of grief and anger in the vocal delivery that doesn't match any other Newsboys song... From the line "lost the plot" matching John James' statement in various interviews, I have often wondered if this song is an outpouring of the grief Peter Furler was feeling to the lifestyle that John was living during that time. I know that sometime between the release of TMTYL and SUTTM, JJ confessed and was asked to leave the band... Speculation, but this perspective really gives a richer tone to the song |
