| Bauhaus – The Three Shadows, Pt. 2 Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
Someone's mistaken here, as these are The three shadows part III lyrics, not part II. Here are the lyrics for part II : Oh classic gentlemen Say your prayers To the wind, of prostitution To your faces, and Rex complexes Riddle my breast Full of the oppressed puss Oh gentlemen, with your fish The you surround, all around And you man, will always point Your fishes, at me But I will always exist Because I always exist Damn good too The rat race begins The fat face stings I hold the fresh pink baby With a smile I slice off those rosy cheeks Because I feel so thirsty And Oedipus Rex complexes ...riddle my closed bloated breast |

@[buriedinmyskin:37221] I think this makes a lot of sense. Jeffrey the man talking to Jeffrey the artist in a schizophrenic manner. I completetly agree with that. |

WTF are these lyrics ? As written by Sorya Lamilla ? For sure this is not "Avalanche" by Leonard Cohen. |

@[heppercatnonplus:15519] Course it makes sense, mostly considering he's looking back to his life / career at the threshold of his own death. |

| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow Lyrics | 9 years ago |
|
@[stocktop:10177] " I think Nick Cave's a bit beyond writing songs about how bad cocaine is", It was not my comment but I rather agree with it. It just means that Cave's songs usually have different layers of understanding. Cocaïne as a whole song subject seems to be a little restrictive, considering Cave's art of writing. In this case, even if you can assume there's a cocaïne subject, il's also used in a metaphoric way to speak about - among other things- isolation in mental, physical, social meanings. |

| David Bowie – The Jean Genie Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
Whoever it is about, Genêt or Pop or both of them (why not?) one should listen to Jacques Dutronc's "La fille du Père Noël" (Santa Claus' daughter). 1966 song with the almost same rythm theme. Both songs are amazing. Belgian singer Arno made a mashup of them. |

| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Stranger Than Kindness Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
In a recent live recording (Royal Albert Hall May 2015) Cave says that this song was written by Anita Lane and Blixa Bargeld. Nevertheless there's no tribute to them on his official site lyrics section. He also ensures that this is his favourite Bad Seeds song. I partially agree with him, this is only one of my favourites. |

| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – The Moon Is in the Gutter Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
@[bonedriven:6234] "Moon in the gutter" (in french "La lune dans le caniveau" ), movie by Jean Jacques Beneix, was inspired by the same title novel by David Goodis (1953). So you'll have to go back to that novel to see if there's some kind of relation with the song. I didn't read the novel. |

Hey ! I happened to find at least two - rather different - versions for this lyrics. So any correction will be truly welcomed. |

| By the way, yet another song about the Mississippi flood in 1927 I bet. | |
| Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Muddy Water Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
On the Bad Seeds LP this song was credited to John Bundrick as it is mentioned up above. This was a mistake as this song is a cover of "Muddy Water" writen by Phil Rosenthal from The Seldom Scene (The Seldom Scene Act III album from 1973).. Brundrick actually wrote a song with the same name, which is part of the 1973 Free "Heartbreaker" album. Oh well, both are from the same year. |
