Puscifer – Man Overboard Lyrics 9 years ago
This makes me think about society as a whole, and the impending global financial and societal collapse. We all see it coming, but are ill prepared. "Toss the extras over" could be in reference to the soldiers sacrificed in the resource wars ahead.

Worm Is Green – Optimistic Lyrics 9 years ago
"He was feeling optimistic " -Speaks for itself
"His heart was tickin' click tick tick " -He felt excited?
"Synthetic hopes of a different day " -Basically dreaming about a better life
"Sparks flew across his veins" -He was having hear palpitations or just felt excited.

"The stars are shining from a light engine" -he's letting his inner light shine. Letting loose his inner creativity. Or he's at a rave.
"The DJ is spinning wig, wig, wig" -He's listening to music, feeling energized, or the DJ is just spinning
"Colourvision with a blurry view" -Overly hopeful, with no clear vision. Or he's intoxicated. By optimism?
"That's life if he just knew" -I'm thinking they just couldn't think of a word to rhyme with view. He's hopeful for a new life I guess.

"His life becomes worth living
When he is dreaming, while he sleeps" -In this state of blind optimism, he has found a reason to keep going.

"Monday morning the lights are on
Monday morning his life is gone" -As he starts the work week, reality creeps in. He only feels alive when he is able to dream on his own time, and feel like his life is his own. Not somebody else's.

"The world is turning dark again
His fellow workers are alive again" -he's basically sectioned out his life. That of the dark and dreary world of monotonous labor, and that of the hopeful color filled weekend. He doesn't want to acknowledge his work life because it's not what he is meant for. His dream is supposed to be his reality.

Fiona Apple – Sleep to Dream Lyrics 10 years ago
The song seems to be Fiona Apples reflection of a past relationship. One she called off. The guy Fiona has broken up with clearly has a fear of commitment. Even though he did love her (though it's questionable how much), he doesn't want to admit it because of his fear of commitment. Based on Fiona's lyrics, he isn't "holding up his end" of the relationship. It's not worth it to carry the weight of the relationships, because relationships take work to maintain. He tries to tell her she's being overly dramatic, that they're doing fine and she's like "fuck you dude. This is your fault. You're not there when I need you physically and emotionally. Your off in your own world, and if that's where you'd rather be, then that's where you belong"

That's about the gist of it.
