I saw the "Amy" documentary and found out that there was a guy at the time she was interested in who was 7 years older than her. At first he wasn't interested and then finally they ended up together, but then she became disinterested once they were in a relationship together. They gave the impression that this song and "Stronger Than Me" were both about that guy. I remember first hearing this song at a time when I had a major crush on a guy and I just related to this song so much, especially lines like "You probably saw me laughing at all your jokes / or how I didn't mind when you stole all my smokes." |
