| The Chills – Pink Frost Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
A haunting song about a man with serious problems and a child in need of help. The baby is unhealthy and neglected at the start of the song, and the singer is feeling melacholy at it's pain, worrying about the consequences when someone finds out. Then comes some thinking on his part (what can I do etc) before an allusion to heart turning cold 'Just the thought fills my heart with Pink Frost'. The next section is the singer justifying to himself what he's going to do/has done 'I didn't hear her screaming' 'I thought I was dreaming' cementing that it's a baby in the middle of the night, before a sudden realisation of what he's done 'I'm so scared'. 'She won't move and I'm holding her head' - like you would a baby. Then the final section is some more logical thinking on the part of the singer 'she's lost bye bye bye' before a realisation of what he needs to do 'I'll have to stop my crying' and the following lines. At the end of the song he kills himself, like he killed the baby. |
