| I'm pretty sure this song is kind of a coping mechanism. Kid was abused, and it messes him up for life. So he basically is like, "Hey my dad treated me horribly, but at least I did (all these extreme things) as a result of the way he treated me so it worked out, didn't it?" I think the song is a fantasy. It may exaggerate the abuse to a slight extent to show the kid demonizing his dad, and describes the hugely successful life he would ideally have after the abuse in order to cope. | |
