To me this song has a few meanings. It genuinely is talking about how teachers (used to) oppress children, and come home to households where the women had the power, which is different than what they had grown up in and had been expected to be a part of when they grew up. The teachers get abused/ridiculed by their wives and need to use their anger somewhere. So they take out their whips and do the same to the children. Leading into Just Another Brick In The Wall Part 2, where the same kids realize that these teachers are only mean to them because their wives are too. They realize they have at least a little position to fight back. |
