| To me, the song is about a person who is searching for love but can't seem to find it. They date down, even when they know they are dating down, because they are lonely. Too lonely to wait for actual love to come. So the guy is dating this girl he doesn't actually love, but he falls for her anyways. He doesn't even care about her "tearing his heart out'' because he's numb to the pain. All of his relationships 'keep him waiting' on actual love. | |
