| I have always felt this song is about birth. That it is about a newborn person, or for that matter something else, that is newborn. That this new life (life in any way) is in itself the "Pearls of Light". Maybe that is a too literal interpretation but thats what I have always imagined. "newborn sun", "womb of the leaves" . I feel like the "I" in the song is letting herself/himself get carried away with the light of the newborn, and for a moment he/she forgets where she's from, beacuse even though this birth is something beautiful in itself, the world surrounding it has a lot of darkness. | |

| For me this song is about rape. In the beginning, "she" opens the door to herself with a smile but then someone else comes in and puts a chill through her heart, someone who has taken away her trust, the one who raped her. For me it's obvious with "past and present are one in her head" beacuse it really sounds traumatic in the context of the rest of the song. But there is someone else who loves her (the person that sings the song, meaning the song is written to someone who the singer loves that has been raped), and that person is trying to help her go on with that love, and that whats the refrain is about. And the title refers to without this love who is between them, they will be forever restless. | |

For me its is obvious iti is about a parent and a child. For me a mother and her daughter. The mother have to, for some reason (probably to save her daughters life) leave her daughter behind, maybe to get her to a safe place where the mother can't go. So the last nights before she has to leave she watches over her child, and try to make her understand why her world is falling apart (beacuse her mother is leaving her). This song I feel is what the mother "sings" when she watches over her daughter sleeping, to really try to make her understand that "you're not alone in life, even though you may think that you are". And the last sentence litteraly means that one day, even it if may be 25 years from that night, they will see each other again. One day. And yes, this kind of is my own story but it fits perfectly to the song. |
