Unknown – Sea Story (Do You Believe) Lyrics 23 years ago
Hello.

I'm the one who posted this song, and I would like to explain a bit about where and how I obtained this piece of music. First of all, it really is a beautiful piece of music, its rather quiet, but it does have a bit of a beat to it. I wouldn't know what to classify it as, and I have no idea who did this song, nor do I have any idea what the Album title is. I'm not even sure on the Title of the song, but since "Do you Believe" and "Sea Story" are repeated in the song several times, I felt that was the best thing to name it.

I acquired the song from a friend on the internet, who had said he found it on an unmarked cassette tape along with another song I have. I had to type up the lyrics myself, along with the help of a friend to get a few lines that I couldn't understand myself. The second song I cannot post, becuase I cannot understand any of its lyrics.

He said that he used the line-in port on his computer to record the song to MP3 format, and then he sent it to me, and my version is a little fuzzy. If I knew who the artist was, I'd probably buy that album.

I hope someone out there knows who this artist is...

No Doubt – Hella Good Lyrics 23 years ago
First of all,I would like to ask everyone that if this is a website dedicated to discussing the meanings of the song, why are people bashing artists and albums? That is not the intent of this site, is it? Granted I'm new here, but come on. Let us stick to the true purpose of the website, shall we?

Now, I'll reply to some of the posts, esepcially the one by Chelsea. Gwen, like any other artist, whether they produce music, or visual art, or any other type of art, they work from their heart, they create pieces that they imagine, or that they think of. Gwen and whoever helped her come up with this song got the idea for THIS song, and no other song at the time. Are we really the ones to say what she may and may not think of? Of course not. Maybe you did like her better when she did ska (whatever that is), but I will have to say that I rather like this song. Its nice and upbeat, and generally a good song in general.

And what about popular demand? If an artist knows that a particular type of music isn't as popular anymore as it used to be, will they keep releasing what they aren't sure that people will want? Like any other person who sells service, or goods, or anything else, they need to go with the flow. If you are the owner of a store, you sell what is in demand. If you stock what is not in demand, you will waste money, simple as that. Pop and Rock are very popular nowadays, and Heavy Metal is still going strong. I never even heard of "Ska" before, I'm rather new to newer music, I'll admit. I know Pop and Rock, because its what you see everywhere. Why do you see it everywhere? Because its popular. Maybe you don't like it, but then again, maybe the people on this board posting, are the exceptions? Everyone is free to like what they wish. If you like her Ska albums more, then do as the one person suggested--stick with the Ska albums and leave the newest two alone. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. No one is forcing you to. But bashing the artist just becuase she decides to keep with what's popular just isn't right.

Does it have sexual undertones and/or hints? Yes, I believe it does. Does that put Gwen along with Britany Spears, and Christina Aguilera? No, I don't think so. Not in my opinion, at least. I don't get what in the nine hells is so bad about sexuality. Its a part of life, and was never meant to be so taboo. If someone mentions the word "sex" nowadays, people go up in arms. Grow up.

That's my two cents on the discussion. Now, back to the real purpose of this website.

The song's lyrics clearly imply two meanings--a sexual one, and a normal one. The sexual one gives me the image of a rather lively couple in bed, and the normal meaning gives me an image of a few singers at a party in a large bar or something similar. I wonder which one Gwen meant for us to see?
