Jane's Addiction – End To The Lies Lyrics 10 years ago
Frontman Perry Farrell said regarding the song's meaning: "'End To The Lies' is about a composite of a--holes that I happen to know. It's about you know, you hear things on the street about yourself and you kind of hold your tongue, take your time, then you hit 'em in the face!"

I wonder if it's not exclusively about Eric Avery. He has quit the band multiple times and has been known to publicly trash Perry and the band. The whole band, including Avery, got back together in '09 for a tour with SSSC and NIN, but Avery quit again before The Great Escape Artist was written and released. "You never really change like they say, oh, you only become more like yourself." Perry hears about Eric's behavior and desire to be with the band, but when they get back together, Eric and Perry butt heads. Then he cries like a baby and quits again, talking sh!t about Perry and Dave. Dave Navarro has been pretty forthright about his feelings about Eric. "You were the foreskin, I am the real head." If you compare new to old Jane's Addiction, there is a clear difference. I believe that Eric is the difference. Eric is the foreskin. You remove the foreskin, the penis is changed, but you still have the head. Without Avery, Jane's Addiction is still Janes because of Perry.
