I disagree that the premise is that "women have it easy" as a general concept, however it's definitely about a certain type of woman that often gets misassociated with modern feminism; the type that says "you can't hit a girl" (obviously you shouldn't hit ANYBODY unless in defense, etc.) but has no problem with, for example, the death penalty or other socially-sanctioned violence. The type that believes in gender roles and "a woman's place," which these days entails dependence and a very passive role in the family, while many "dirty" types of work are overwhelmingly relegated to men, even if they come with higher pay (much of the source of the gender gap today). But don't forget that there are still many men who actually think this way too, encouraging their daughters to become good wife material before being a good student, worker, or citizen. |
