Learning that their new album "I Am Alive In Everything I Touch" is based from Shane's tour experiences, I think this song tackles about the downside of touring. Hence, the "I am the dead man" lines that are placed at the start of the song and after the second chorus. Also, don't forget the last two lines of the first verse ("found myself-concern", "bound and-turn"), wherein it speaks about regretting that he had made the decision of living life in the fast lane ("the tour/rockstar life"), but at the same time, enjoying what comes along. I still can't figure out the "Woodward and Cass" reference though. Maybe it's a metaphor for a certain phase in his life? Whatever, I'll decipher it soon. |
