It creeps in on so many of us so easily and quickly that we don’t notice until we’re on the verge of a breakdown. We hide our true emotions, put on a happy face, and no one knows what’s going on in our heads every second of every day. We get told to medicate, we need fixed. Really we just need to look at ourselves and confront those voices. Be happy with yourself! |

Although I think the song could be about a broken relationship, I feel it's more so about the unspoken communication between God and a person struggling to get through life. I feel as if the main chorus is God speaking to the person.. "Every breath you take, I watch you slip away.." They feel as if God has left them and see no hope. "If my soul was torn would you help? Would you try and fix me?"
