| These lyrics seem to run true with me but it was only a fantasy. An exgf I was once in love with shattered my core beliefs that she could ever be my soulmate. She lied, cheated and stole from me. She's surrounded by her enablers who only help maintain her personality disorder. It's valentines morning and I'm waiting for my new love to arrive from work, she is so diffrent in contrast and so am I now. They say you should never live in the past; to reflect upon the good times is ok but do look at your own contribution to the breakup because you do play a part in it then close the chapter... | This depicts most of what I needed to say to my exgf today. She suffers from abandonment issues, she also contains traits of someone with BPD or even NPD. A relationship with whom I have no regrets as it enlightened my own faults and do what was needed to address my own lifelong issues. I know her condition will not allow her to ever feel loved or secure and happy. I feel some kind of guilt from walking away but its nobody's job to 'Fix You' with this kind of condition, you will only suffer if you don't seek help. 10 months from the breakup I've changed so many of the bad things I disliked about myself and I've attracted a beautiful woman half my age and the relationship is so easy going... Such a relief! My ex has played numerous tracks through Napster since the breakup allowing me to have access into her little world of love songs to manipulate me into going back or just to give me false hope to have me hanging on. 'Fix You' and 'Run' (for the hills) serves its purpose of closure for me. Thank you Snow Patrol. | |

| I just sent this to my ex last night using her account on Napster to test if she is either narcisstic or has BPD. For over nine months I've watched her play love songs in hope I'm watching and sometimes I do. I'm unsure if she is just using malipulation tactics to keep me within her web confirming she is a true narsasist and I'll stay away at all cost. I've no regrets of this relationship, I learn't I carried some traits of codependency due to my father being nassisistic and I'm on my way to near on full recovery now. I've learnt so much about myself and come out of the other side for a better version of myself. I packed up smoking and the drink; 5 times a week down the gym and I've met someone I have a great connection with. Not sure how I feel about my ex now but I still contain some deep feelings towards her but it's possibly just a fantasy of what could have been. Don't know what she will play next and how it could eventually turn out. Fantastic song, sums up a great learning chapter in my life :-) | |

I recently walked away from a toxic & destructive relationship with a woman who I loved dearly. She was so secretive & only told me what I wanted to hear. She loves the album of Leonard Cohen I introduced her to and this seems to be her favourite song. | Well this is the first time I've posted on this site after reading so many lyrics my ex posted on Napster; her way of cryptic communication in the history field to hopefully get a positive response from me to fuel her Narcissistic Personality Disorder traits. This song is so fitting for me, it really helps me to move along. My ex before we parted had a guy set up to help fuel her egotistical side, from what I can read into, she wants me to sit on the sidelines as her friend and watch me suffer. I'm known by my own family and friends to be an extremely nice guy buy my ex tried to condition me to believe otherwise. I'm hoping this has sent the correct message back to show to her, if you love someone then you totally respect them, but then again someone with NPD have no empathy for other people's suffering. If anyone else has ever had to suffer this kind of ordeal, then from my Heart to Yours and run for the hills and never look back. | |
