I interpret it as a song about a friend he has always loved but never fully gone for. He's stuck in his want for her. The line about "And she said, "Break your neck, and I will love you every night. You will be mine" makes me think about unhealthy love. Like she will love him only as a victim, someone that is wounded and she has to safe or help. |
