| Of Monsters And Men – King and Lionheart Lyrics | 10 years ago |

I believe that this song is about two people; a one way relationship perhaps. I can see this as a Mentor/apprentice, senpai/kohai love story. In the beginning it says "Taking over this town they should worry/But these problems aside I think I taught you well". This shows that there's sort of a mentor/apprentice thing going on, the mentor teaching the apprentice about different things. It goes on to describe their life- "And in the winter night sky ships are sailing/Looking down on these bright blue city lights/And they won't wait, and they won't wait, and they won't wait/We're here to stay, we're here to stay, we're here to stay." They say "we re here to stay" as if they will always be together. "Howling ghosts – they reappear/In mountains that are stacked with fear/But you're a king and I'm a lionheart/A lionheart". - there will be problems to face but as long as we have each other, we can survive. I also searched things up about lion hearts and I've realized that they follow the king, protecting him and all. This could assist the theory of a senpai/kohai thing, where the lionheart wants to help the king and always be there for them. "His crown lit up the way as we moved slowly/Past the wondering eyes of the ones that were left behind/Though far away, though far away, though far away/We're still the same, we're still the same, we're still the same." - the king assists the lionheart by guiding them. And even though they travel and face problems and leave others behind, they stick together through it all. "Howling ghosts – they reappear/In mountains that are stacked with fear/But you're a king and I'm a lionheart/And in the sea that's painted black/Creatures lurk below the deck/But you're a king and I'm a lionheart." - there are more problems, people try to stop them, break them apart, but they are inseparable. "And as the world comes to an end/I'll be here to hold your hand/'Cause you're my king and I'm your lionheart/A lionheart. [8x]" - even if the world ends, or even if they're about to die, the lionheart will always be there for the king. "Howling ghosts – they reappear/In mountains that are stacked with fear/But you're a king and I'm a lionheart/And in the sea that's painted black/Creatures lurk below the deck/But you're a king and I'm a lionheart/A lionheart. [8x]" -same thing. No matter what, they will be there for each other. This might not have a relationship meaning to it, but I'd like to think it does. It can connect to my life a lot. I like this person and even if they don't like me back, I will always be there for them. Maybe one day they'll notice me and... Blah. But yeah, sorry if this sucks, I just really love this song... |

| Marina and the Diamonds – I Am Not a Robot Lyrics | 10 years ago |

"You've been acting awful tough lately Smoking a lot of cigarettes lately" They are acting like someone they aren't. "But inside, you're just a little baby, oh. It's okay to say you've got a weak spot" Even though they're acting tough, the singer knows that they aren't. "You don't always have to be on top Better to be hated than loved, loved, loved for what you're not" They don't always have to be better than everyone else. They don't have to be perfect to be loved. "You're vulnerable, you're vulnerable You are not a robot You're lovable, so lovable But you're just troubled" They don't have to keep acting because they are human. Humans aren't flawless and that's okay. "Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot [2x]" The singer is saying that they're not perfect either. "You've been hanging with the unloved kids Who you never really liked and you never trusted" The person is hanging around people they don't really know (it's either people they this are perfect or imperfect people- I assume it's imperfect people so it brings the other person up about also being imperfect). "But you are so magnetic, you pick up all the pins Never committing to anything" They are changing into a "perfect" person and growing careless. "You don't pick up the phone when it ring-ring-rings Don't be so pathetic, just open up and sing" The person is shutting off who they really are and the singer is telling them to be confident and believe in themselves. "I'm vulnerable, I'm vulnerable I am not a robot You're lovable, so lovable But you're just troubled" The singer says that they might be imperfect, but that's just how it is. They say that the person is human, and can be imperfect, and they just need to accept that. "Can you teach me how to feel real? Can you turn my power off And let the drum beat drop?" This is basically the person asking the singer to help them be human, to help them accept their imperfections... I might be wrong but... ^~^ |

I dont know if this is right but this is what i have got from the song. I think its about a man who ended up killing himself and he is telling everyone that- yeah he is gone and he is sorry, but they will see him again in another life. "I'm sorry, mother I'm sorry, I let you down" He is saying sorry for letting his mom down and for not being strong enough. "Well, these days I'm fine - No these days I tend to lie" He acts like he is fine but is lying. (i tend to lie) "I'll take the West train, just by the side of Amsterdam" He is leaving and going away from his home. Maybe this means he is going to die, leaving the world. "Just by your left brain, just by the side of the Tin man" This shows that he thinks he is a bad person. That he thinks he is brainless ("left brain") and heartless (the tinman had no heart). "I'm sorry, brother I'm sorry, I let cha down. Well, these days you're fine, no these days you tend to lie" This line is interesting. I believe that his brother is going through the same thing he is going through but is scared to admit it. the singer is realizing how he feels. "You'll take the West train, just by the side of Amsterdam. Just by your left brain, just by the side of the Tin man." Maybe he knows that his brother is about to kill himself "Your time will come if you wait for it, if you wait for it" This means that things will get better eventually but you have to stay strong and be patient. "It's hard, believe me I've tried" He TRIED, which points to the fact that he tried to be patient and tried to wait for things to get better but ended up failing. "But I keep coming up short" He kept waiting for things to get good but nothing happened and his life was still bad. This could also be him explaining why he killed himself. "I'm sorry, lover you're sorry; I bring you down" This is him telling his lover that he is sorry for being sad and burdening her with his depression. Sorry for "bringing them down" and making them sad, too. "Well, these days I try and these days I tend to lie" He says he is okay but is lying. "Kinda thought I was a mystery and then I thought I wasn't meant to be" This is when he first starts thinking about killing himself. He says that he was a "mystery" which could mean that he was "unsolvable". And "I thought I wasnt meant to be" means that maybe itd be better if he was gone and this is his fate. "You said yourself fantastically, 'Congratulations you were all alone'" Maybe he scared off everyone he cared about by being this way. "But the rain won't fall for the both of us. The sun won't shine on the both of us" This line shows that him and his friends cant always be happy. They wont both be perfect. He will not be okay even though his friends will. "Believe me when I say, that I wouldn't have it any other way" hes saying that he wishes that they would both be okay. So yeah this is my interpretation. I hope you understand a little bit better~ |
