As a composer I love the song, chords and melody. At first glance it does seem to contain an immoral message. However, the lines close to the end read this: And tomorrow when it's dawning And the first birds starts to sing In the pale light of the morning Nothing's worth remembering It's a dream it's out of reach Scattered driftwood on the beach. Scattered driftwood is far from beautiful and peaceful. I believe it is a warning. |

I wouldn't call anyone stupid but I agree with text_extreme. What I would like to add is something regarding the final verse: The earth starts to rumble World powers fall A'warring for the heavens A peaceful man stands tall These things are specifically predicted in the Bible (Book of Revelation, Isaiah etc.). The peaceful man that stands tall is Jesus Christ who, when all world powers have fallen, returns. |
