The song reminds me of my step brother who I've only met once and was last week. We had never met each other but instantly got along and went out for a drive one night, and I was in his town which I had never been to before so I was sort of out of my depth, in a "third world". We just had a good heart to heart and opened up to each other and now I live 200 miles away from him so we are "long lost". This song just reminds me of people who have never met but become really good mates instantly, just like we did. I miss him and it's only been a week. :( |

This is one of the few songs which I can just listen to repeatedly. I cannot put a firm interpretation on it, other than that I think the persona singing wishes that they had done something better out of their life. I feel this is backed up in the music video where the bloke is shown to be a bus driver which isn't exactly the best job in the world, so he wishes he had become something better and everyone knew him by a "different name", not just a bus driver. |

I feel like this is about somebody who is in love with someone who has died. Maybe not even in love with them, but they care very deeply about them. They want to "swap" places and the persona singing the song wishes it was them who had died and not the person they cherish. They are willing to sacrifice their own life in order for someone else's to live on. If it was possible, they would "be running up that road, be running up that hill, be running up that building", in order to get into heaven. |
