| Queen – Too Much Love Will Kill You Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| This song was written by Brian May, after cheating on his first wife, Chrissie Mullen, with then Eastenders actress Anita Dobson, whom he later married. "Too much love" was Brian's way of saying he still loved Chrissie but also loved Anita, "torn between the lover and the love you leave behind" and saying it's "impossible to choose" between the two. He regrets cheating, but at the same time loves Anita and so is put in a position where he has to choose just one, and no matter which he chooses, he's "bound to lose". | |

Some believe that Paul McCartney died in a car crash in November 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike. Apparently, lots of "clues" to Paul's death are in their songs and album artwork. The theory is that this song is an ode to Paul; John remembering his old friend and hearing about his death. Then the "fake Paul" joins in, as the dead man, referring to his own passing with the line "I went into a dream". Some argue that in the line "Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords", John actually sings "the House of Paul". These are conspiracy theories and not my own opinion, just thought I'd add it as I haven't seen it mentioned. |
