What do they mean by "we won't be there for you!"? I understand that the song is about rebelling and living up to the older generations criticisms only to spite and defy them. "We are the lazy generation" "So good at wasting are time" Are they being ironic? Or are they genuinely proud of being lazy and wasting time? "You can just drop dead and die" Who old people? "Nothing we do ever seem to matter" There is no pleasing the older generation? "just like shit on a silver platter shines..." "Yeah you know just where we stand" We are freeloaders and we don't give a fuck! You know what we are, live with it! "Stand up and shout!" "We won't be there for you!" Yell all you want! Stand up! Scream! We won't listen because we don't care! "WE WON'T BE THERE FOR YOU!" Best way I can interpret it. Any thoughts? |
