I think this song speaks of an impossible relationship, but also one that is necessarily very passionate and spiritual. I can relate to this song as I'm in an on-off with a man who I have very strong emotions for - although quite a bit of it is clouded by lust. We can't ever be together because of circumstance, but sometimes I just can't stop thinking and hoping for the impossible. The line 'all I have is nothing I want anymore' is especially powerful because I would have to give up a lot to be with him but yet sometimes I feel like I would. I'm so happy one republic came up with this song as I can totally escape in it and wallow in my misery of me without him. |
