War – Why Can't We Be Friends? Lyrics 10 years ago
When "Why Can't We Be Friends" was a hit, we thought the following stanza was hilarious: "Sometimes I don't speak right. But yet I know what I'm talking about." In those days, most lyrics rhymed. So, we thought the stanza deliberately flaunted that tradition to go with the thought that you may not say something in standard language but your meaning is clear.
