Procol Harum – A Whiter Shade of Pale Lyrics 3 months ago
@[beth21:54469] - "... as the miller told his tale" - yes, was raunchy and despite the author denies that he hadn’t read it, it has the distinction of playing perfectly into the lyrics as it relates to the mood of the evening as the drinking progressed, the party got a little more feisty and that’s when someone starts reciting The Miller’s Tale amongst other usually vulgar stories and shanty songs. It painted the picture for the audience listening very well

@[q1605:54468] - the lines you quoted “They gave it all they had to give but the crowd called out for more. The room was humming harder.” Had to do with the music and dancing that was going on during the other festivities

The Waterboys – This Is The Sea Lyrics 3 months ago
The lyrics can be interpreted several ways - which allows us to deflect our thoughts from personal experiences relatable in more than one way, as opposed to a static meaning. It follows along the changes and fluidity of our lives and keeps up.
The first verse points to that time of youth where you are spinning in all directions to find yourself in flux. You are looking for your path, but it will take you to places where you don’t belong as well as where you think want to be. You must go through all of this before you can begin to make a decision on what path to take. It’s important to understand that the process will not always be clear, and takes later reflection to make the distinction between what was real and what turned out to be an illusion before you can rid yourself of naivety and let go of the things that fooled you as having any value to hold on to. These are the things that tether you and keep you tethered until you throw them away.
It’s not easy; it’s exhausting. You need to stop at some point and sort through all of it, you’ve collected mounds and mounds of data - it’s overwhelming to think of sorting through it all, but you need to do it all yourself as only you can find any meaning to it all or if it didn’t, then discard it; you already know what happens if you keep it, then it will keep you from moving on. You remember how easy things were when before you started this journey. Completely oblivious of any path and that you had to choose one.
The time has come to choose it, and it’s frightening and terrifying to think about it, as you haven’t considered that it’s just another stage for you to pass through. You’ve only just started, you haven’t even gotten past the river. You are on your way to your life that’s only just begun. Only you don’t know it yet. You are still in your crisalis stage. You will break out of it and although it’s painful and you don’t know what will happen once you break free. You can’t imagine having wings or anything as profound as the sea, but that is what you will find.
You once thought only of rivers, but the sea has been waiting for you all along. It’s infinity stretches out in front of you, and so are the possibilities open to you to fulfill your life and the knowledge you now possess to choose wisely

@[chrissydv:37836] - Brilliant. Have you seen or read anything about the Work Houses of Ireland? Basically a place for fallen women and the child, if it lived. I researched it, and one commenter wrote that Sinead O’Conner was in one once. (PLEASE- NOT FACT CHECKED)

Aerosmith – You See Me Crying Lyrics 10 years ago
@[aerogirltyler:3488], your take is a good one I hadn't even thought of, especially since Perry did not play guitar on this track. It's completely plausible.
Before reading your post, I thought the lyrics were meant to be slightly cheeky (as Aerosmith's sometimes are), but the bridge seemed completely sincere, not at all tongue in cheek.
As far as the lyric: "Say your a ladies man", I also took it to mean "[you] Say you're a ladies man", I'm glad for your contribution, I'll look in your direction of the meaning.
