i think this is Corey's opinion on the way we life, how 'some of us are meant to be outlived', and the devils that we all have inside.
If you watch the music video also for the song, it shows every band members being brutally killed if some way.

i think is is an introduction to the album itself (seeming Clown, says 'this song is not for the living. This song is for the dead) addressing Paul, seeing it is named 'The Grey Chapter' and is a tribute to him. i think Corey's part is what he did when he found out about the death. |
