| I think this song is about a bad relationship but he wants it to work out because he's looking too closely at this bad relationship that he should try to work it out with someone else but he really wants it to work out. Its killing him like blood under the fingernail that it's not working out. He knows that he should look at the picture as a whole and understand that looking too closely can cause him to stay with someone bad and not find someone new by looking far, for other fish in the sea. He knows he might hurt himself by trying to break it off and find someone knew but he knows its for the better. He says looking too closely and then says no no no no no no because he's trying to convince himself that he's not looking too closely And that it will work out one day.
