I think the song is about a girl who's confused about what she wants in a relationship. She claims she wants more from the relationship they already have but is noot willing to leave her comfort zone.He says "talk is cheap my darling, when you're feeling right at home." This is him telling the girl that when she says she wants more, he doesn't believe her unless she acts upon it as well, leaving the safety of "home." The singer wants her to be confident and spend more time alone together, but he feels she is just "throwing out those words." He also feels she might just be saying these things because she feels like that is the right thing to do, not necessarily what she wants as she doesn't "feel it on her own." He's asking her to make up her mind, is she does want more to "help me help you start it," but he won't know for sure if she doesn't take the leap of faith |
