| @[CynicalTruth:3200] O contraire, my friend: to me Peace seems to be more of an ironic statement wherein the singer addresses those who always tell him to be 'more positive', and to 'stop being such a downer' or something. Listened to from this perspective, the song gives off a similar attitude to that showcased in 'Wrong'. Mind you, I don't have much proof for this, and it is only my personal interpretation, but what gave it away for me was the sheer pain and force with which Gahan sings 'Just look at me, I am walking love incarnate, look at the frequencies with which I vibrate'. These lines sound powerful, not peaceful, and they seem to have a lot of pain behind them. As if the singer is saying "Look at me! I'm FINE! Are you happy now?! Look, I'm being POSITIVE for you! Now fuck off." | |
