| I don't think the fact that the chorus could be heard as 'I'm a fire, man' and 'I'm a fireman' is a coincidence, and I think it's a pun. It's about somebody who's been living by the expectations of others for much of their life, and finds release in an act of self-destructive arson; possibly a fatal case of self-destructive arson. | |
