| To me this is one of the saddest songs ever written. Children in all their innocence, magic and beauty are dying or being sent to their death (into the twilight where we all one day will go; tendrils; angels). The song is about the death of not just one child but many, which to me brings to mind images of the Holocaust (the children tip-toe to their death). Soft *black* stars is a chilling image in itself. So sad, but beautifully poetic. | |
