I believe that the father in this song instructed her (his daughter) on she was to feel and as such her emotions (feelings) have never developed properly...because she has been told how to feel which now conflicts with how she should feel. |

I'm pretty sure this song is about living with Borderline Personality Disorder. High functioning, beautiful and successful can have it and still be extremely insecure. They have the emotional maturity of a child because it has never developed properly. Thus being 13 forever. Similar to her song eight easy steps. |
