From what I can tell, without making any blatant assumptions, the song seems to be about helping someone you care about out of something of a tight jam, basically. I mean, it seems fairly straightforward, in that regard... "I can see what the world has done to you" Is recognizing that said friend/family member is a bit of a bind. "This time, this time Things'll work out just fine We won't let you slip away" Is basically saying "Look, we're gonna help you as best we can, we're not just gonna let you burn". Of course, that's just one man's opinion. |

I'm of the opinion that the song is about doing whatever it takes, towards what endgame I can't decipher; to get through until the next day, or even a more specific purpose, I don't know, but the references to running, rushing... Move quick we've got to hurry There's no time to think As well as speak of not giving up, lead me to believe this. |
